Special Education Content Specialist Position pool for 2024-2025 school year.  SpEd Credential, English Learners Authorization and Autism Authorization required.  3-5 yrs exp. as a teacher, previous PD experience required.

  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide-range of constituencies, including parents, professionals as well as outside agencies
  • Successful experience working with a diverse adult and student population; track record of success in an urban school setting
  • Skillful in analyzing student assessment data, instructional planning and professional development of teachers
  • Thorough knowledge of district reporting systems, including SEIS (special education)
  • Experience in group facilitation and conducting professional development for continuous school improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; high degree of organization and effective time management
  • History of successful instruction with educationally and socially underserved communities
  • Bilingually proficient (speaking, reading, writing) in Cantonese or Spanish
  • Record of positive demeanor and collaborative success
  • Outstanding and /or Highly Satisfactory Summary Evaluations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Special Education Credential with Autism and English Learner Authorization required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, including all courses to meet credential requirements.
  • Knowledge of The Individual with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Compliant IEP practices, and best practices for instructional strategies, modifications and accommodations.
  • Two years’ successful instructional experience in a special education role.
  • Have recent classroom experience with minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in special education.
  • Be able to travel to multiple sites during the day/week.
